This email is writing itself

The story is set in the simple and fairy tale-like world of Oatwood, where mermaids and unicorns are real and only family-friendly behaviour is allowed. Having achieved utopian status by giving free education, housing, healthcare and guaranteed work to all citizens, Oatwood is too good to be true at first glance.
It's no secret to anyone living there that everyone is closely monitored and breaking a single law is met with immediate exile. While more laws exist than people who can follow them, Oat citizens are taught early on to reject "inappropiate" behaviour and ideas, and follow the good citizen model.
Meet Izayah. He likes to complain a lot. That is why the series starts with him complaining about his dull and repetitive job at WeOatTV broadcasting company, where he works as a 'Digital Mailman.' His only reason for staying being that he is in love with his colleague and main sports channel host, Jovi.
Knowing full well it's forbidden for a man to pursue a romantic relationship in Oatwood with another man, Izayah decides enough is enough after two years of yearning.
While Jovi is broadcasting, Izayah decides to kiss him on live TV to send a message to the citizens that people like him exist. This act prompts Security to forcefully take him away and exile him from Oatwood, leaving him no choice but to live the rest of his life in the outskirts. Yet, having secretly divided his life between Oatwood and the outskirts, Izayah simply returns home to break the news to his aunt and finally commit to life in the outskirts.
From the beginning, Izayah promises to narrate facts about Oatwood, the outskirts, and the Oat people. Throughout the series, readers can also catch glimpses of the past and see perspectives of different characters.
にこにこ監獄 (Niko Niko Kangoku)
A year has passed since the kiss incident, and Jovi is left to face the consequences. Once admired and popular, he now rarely leaves home after having lost his job, popularity and most importantly, his complicated office situationship. Weighed down by depression for so long, he has sunk to the point of no return, leaving him with only one choice in his mind...
Niko Niko Kangoku focuses on the ongoing story of Oatwood and the outskirts. Unlike "This email is writing itself" which is composed of short comic strips that are all over the place, this new title is a full-length graphic novel with longer chapters and linear story telling. The two function as companion series, together giving the full picture of the story.
